Hey, I'm Aayan! I'm a software engineering student at the University of Waterloo, previously at Shopify on the Payments team.

Some things I've worked on:

  • discord.py: contributed features, fixes, and the library-wide typing overhaul
    • Maintained a fork while development was paused
  • Halo: wearable assistant that helps people with vision loss navigate their surroundings
    • 1st place @ IEEE SSCS Arduino Contest 2025
  • Maatchaa (repo): matches Shopify merchants with YouTube creators for product partnerships
    • Finalist @ Hack the North 2025
