ENet reliable UDP networking library was implement in FBAE Version_for_performance_measures_campaign_01 and then abandonned because it was not giving satisfactory results (reentrancy problems for some algorithms).
We suggest to reimplement it in FBAE with the current interface between AlgoLayer and CommLayer as:
- With this implementation, we will check that current interface between AlgoLayer and CommLayer is sufficient. Thus we will prepare implementation of CommLayer based on MPI.
- ENet can be tested if tests AlgoLayer does not trigger reentrancy problems, i.e. algorithms which use batches of messages (thus, there is no risk of a thread sending messages while another thread is receiving messages).
