Checkpoint capture no longer runs working-tree status or unconstrained Git log commands that can invoke project-configured programs. Preserve commit metadata through a fixed builtin command allowlist, suppress signatures/pagers/lazy fetch, resolve Git outside the project and bound subprocess output/time. Working-tree state is explicitly unknown; older Boolean checkpoint records remain supported.
Thirteen focused tests pass, including hostile configuration positive controls, signed commits, environment/executable discovery, overflow/timeouts and unknown-state validation/rendering. Full local tests are blocked by three missing-Pygments imports; no package was installed. Independent source review passed. CI and desktop/browser integration bounds remain explicit.
