Describe the bug

In version 4.16 and before I received a notification and a number of messages coming in in the Windows system tray.

Now from version 4.17 I see only my status in the system tray. No notifications.

this new feature of showing the online state in tray should become a setting or be on the other side of the icon and be displayed in addition to the new message icon, not replacing it.

I am involuntarily ignoring several messages because the tray does not show new messages anymore.

The "Describe the bug" section in the original post describes it clearly. There used to be an unread message counter on the tray icon, it's not there anymore. I have no taskbar icon at all, so I never noticed a counter on it.

Yes, there is only the new info about the activity status.

When you hover over the icon you can check if you have a new message.

We changed this because we thought that the taskbar icon counter would be enough and as the trayicon is to small, users couldnt see the numbers. I will add a setting to choose between the presence and the counter as before, so you can select the old behaviour.

I seriously just realized, that there was a counter inside of the red dot.
Point is - now you simply don't know you have unread messages, if you miss any of the quickly-disappearing windows notification popups.

I would even suggest - why not to change whole icon's color from current, static always grey-ish to rocket-chat's red on unread messages? That would allow status dots to naturally co-exist with status dots:

I didn't even know the taskbar icon counter existed, because it doesn't show up at all if you have "Use small taskbar buttons" turned on. So the tray icon was the only way to know there were new messages.

It doesn't have to be a counter -- it is genuinely too small to read -- but some sort of visual indicator that there are unread messages would be appreciated.
