Introduction

RSM is a foundation to build any other web application software on top.

When a new project starts, there are many things that are always done. For example, a login system, a user ans permissions manager, an API, a databse schema with relationships, a search engine, etc... With RSM we already start with all these things already done, so we can concentrate on the projects' particularities, what makes it different of anything else.

We have used RSM for factory automation, inventory, online stores, mobile application management, invoicing and many other purposes with great success, and encourage you to give it a try.

RSM is also opensource with a MIT license. We are ralentlessly improving the source code and adding new features. If you need something specific let us know, we are open to sponsorship!

Technology

RSM is built using the following technologies:

PHP as processor

PHP is an opensource preprocessor, easy to learn, and has a large community of users around. The way our PHPs were created also allows to scale by adding extra servers to the system. RSM allows to distribute the load between several PHP instances or servers using a load balancer.

MariaDB for data storage

MariaDB is an open-source relational database management system (RDBMS) that has become a popular alternative to MySQL. Its history is closely tied to MySQL and the open-source community. MariaDB is a fork from mySQL, created after mySQL got adquired by Sun Microsystems and later by Oracle corporation. It scales very well and features things like encryption at rest, galera cluster and many storage options for different kinds of data.
