Adds an agent-native computer suite tailored for AI agents in Fable Mode. Features Agent Figma (UI design, flex layout, SVG/JSON export), Agent After Effects (keyframing, multi-track timeline, frame-by-frame video rendering), Agent Code Editor (buffer staging and AST syntax checking), and Agent VM Sandbox (isolated test execution and atomic host promotion/rollback) operating under 500 MB RAM budget.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 16616219286820732240 started by @REX-codebase

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added design canvas tools for creating layouts, components, and vector visuals, with JSON, SVG, and image exports.
    • Added motion graphics tools for creating compositions, animating layers, previewing frames, and rendering video sequences.
    • Added code editing and sandbox tools for staging file changes, validating syntax, running tests, and promoting successful updates.
  • Compatibility

    • Added these capabilities to portable releases and available session actions.

Implements zero-dependency Agent Figma UI design engine, Agent After Effects motion graphics engine, Agent Code Editor staging buffer, and Agent VM isolated execution sandbox exposed via fable_session MCP actions under 500MB RAM.

Cap the rendered frame count before retaining the sequence. The external action accepts duration_sec, and render_video_sequence() stores one SVG for every frame at the default 30 FPS. Reject excessive frame counts or stream frames instead of retaining the complete sequence.

Do not retain invalid Python in the promotable buffer.

The method stores content before it parses the Python source. A syntax error only changes the response metadata. A later successful or unrelated test command can still promote the invalid file.

Parse first. Store the buffer only when syntax validation succeeds.

Path Traversal

Reachability: External
Exploitability: Trivial
CWE: CWE-22 — Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')

Confine all staged paths to trusted roots.

rel_path comes from the external filepath argument. Absolute paths and .. segments can escape temp_dir and host_root. The sandbox write occurs before tests, so a failed test does not roll back an escaped write.

Do not accept an external host_root. Resolve each relative path and reject it unless it remains under the trusted sandbox and workspace roots.

Copy the project before applying staged files.

Staging tests/new_test.py creates temp_dir/tests before this loop. The existence check then skips the original test suite. The new test can pass alone and permit promotion despite regressions.

Copy the baseline project first. Overlay the staged files after the copy completes.

Make host promotion atomic.

The loop overwrites files one at a time. If a later write fails, earlier files remain modified even though the method returns an error. This violates the atomic promotion and rollback contract.

Validate all destinations first. Write temporary sibling files, then replace them atomically with backup-based rollback for multi-file failures.

Enforce unique node_id values.

The generated identifier uses only len(root.children). Two children added below a nested parent can both receive node_2. Explicit input can also reuse an existing identifier.

_find_node then selects the first matching node. Later operations can modify the wrong branch. Generate identifiers from a canvas-wide counter or reject identifiers that already exist.

Validate padding before storing the node.

tuple(...) does not enforce four numeric values. A layout node with malformed padding is accepted until it receives a child. solve_layout then fails while unpacking or subtracting the values.

Validate exactly four finite numbers before adding the node to the canvas.

Proposed validation
- padding=tuple(node_data.get("padding", [0, 0, 0, 0])),
+ padding_values = node_data.get("padding", [0, 0, 0, 0])

Apply the validation before constructing FigmaNode:

if not isinstance(padding_values, (list, tuple)) or len(padding_values) != 4:
raise ValueError("padding must contain exactly four numbers")
padding = tuple(float(value) for value in padding_values)

Bound canvas dimensions before PPM export.

The public figma_action accepts width and height without bounds. The PPM path allocates output proportional to int(width) * int(height), so large values can exhaust memory. Reject non-finite, non-positive, or excessively large dimensions before creating the canvas.

Declare the parameters for the new actions.

fable_engine/fable_session.json lists the four actions, but parameters.properties does not declare figma_action, canvas_id, ae_action, comp_id, editor_action, filepath, test_command, or host_root. The corresponding handlers read these top-level fields. Schema-driven MCP clients therefore cannot discover or type these arguments. Add the action-specific properties with string types. The schema does not reject extra properties, so hand-written calls may still work; the tool contract remains incomplete.

Add the new actions to the supported-action response.

ACTION_DISPATCH accepts the four new actions, but the unknown-action response omits them. This response gives incorrect discovery information after an invalid action.

Implement SPACE_BETWEEN in FigmaNode.solve_layout.

FigmaNode.__init__ documents SPACE_BETWEEN, and to_dict() serializes it. In both the HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL branches, SPACE_BETWEEN falls through to FLEX_START, so it has no distinct layout behavior. Implement the intended remaining-space gap calculation in both branches of fable_engine/actions/figma.py. The correction does not belong in fable_engine/actions/after_effects.py.

Bound the module-global action registries. Public handlers accept caller-selected IDs and retain every new canvas or composition in a module-global dictionary. No count limit, memory budget, or lifecycle operation exists. Repeated valid requests can exhaust process memory.
