REAPER is distributed as a Windows package and installed from a single archive. The package contains the application files, the runtime components required for its first launch, and the standard uninstall entry, so the installation is not tied to any additional store or account.
After installation the application runs as a regular desktop program with its own workspace and settings directory. Configuration, cached data and user preferences are stored locally, so a reinstall does not affect documents that were already created with the application.

REAPER keeps its data in the user profile, so moving the installation folder does not migrate existing settings. The archive is distributed with a password to keep automated scanners away from the installer payload.
System requirements depend on the project size and the number of open documents. On lower-memory systems it is worth closing background applications before the first launch, because the initial start performs one-time runtime registration.
