Open content standards, held in trust.

R8rly.org is the standards custodian for a family of content-integrity frameworks that help readers choose work that fits them, and help authors describe their work precisely — a content vocabulary richer than a single letter grade.

R8rly.org holds these works in trust so they can't be quietly enclosed or sold off. Ownership stays with the steward. Verification and the gamified ratings platform live at r8rly.com.

The standards

Standard What it does Who it's for Repo
SHOW Classifies the content of a finished work across four axes — Spice · Heat · OMG · WTF Readers, authors, retailers R8rly/show
VEIL Declares an author's generation envelope — per-axis ceilings and floors — for AI-assisted creative sessions Authors using AI, platforms, developers R8rly/veil
SCRIPTS Rates the experience of a work Readers, reviewers R8rly/scripts (coming)

How they relate: SHOW classifies what a finished work contains. VEIL declares what an AI-assisted session is authorised to produce — using the same S·H·O·W axis vocabulary plus four generation-specific axes (Violence · Explicit · Identity · Language). A work generated under a VEIL envelope should rate at or below its VEIL ceilings when SHOW-classified. SCRIPTS rates the reading experience itself.

VEIL expresses the author's target but never overrides a model's own gating.
