[Bug]: Minor - compose button doesn't work under 'messages'

What happened?

If you click messages AND have active chats, clicking 'compose' does nothing. It takes you nowhere.

What did you expect?

To be taken to the compose screen

Current workaround:

• click the message tab
• on the top right, click the 'Back" button (left arrow icon)
• you are taken to the 'no active chat' screen
• click compose

Steps to reproduce

Open the message tab
Click compose button
Nothing happens

Logs or error output

Nothign is appened to the logs when clicking the button, which i think is expected.

Fixed on dev branch and will be in next release v4.9.1.

The compose button previously did nothing when a conversation was already selected. It now:

1. Opens a blank compose pane on multi-pane layouts.
2. Closes the active conversation and displays the compose form on mobile and single-pane layouts.
3. Automatically focuses the recipient field.
4. Leaves popout windows unchanged.
