An imported catalogue with zero opening balances appeared empty in New Sale because the item grid, name search and categories filtered out tracked products with no stock. Keep those products visible with their stock status, and reject unavailable tracked products when tapped. Existing negative-stock permissions, untracked items, services, returns and server quantity validation remain unchanged.

Validation: 24 local UI/stock-policy tests and four isolated MongoDB tests passed, covering paging, zero-stock search, categories, and tenant/branch exclusion. API lint has no errors (existing warnings remain). Attribution, API docs and packaging checks passed; the formatting failure in the initial full check was corrected and both changed API files pass Prettier.

The targeted cloud hotfix was applied with file backups and a shared-shard reload. The OBC browser now lists products. The billing bundles and their fingerprints/service worker were rebuilt. No inventory quantities or tracking preferences were changed.

Sync: read/display only; items/categories already use branch-scoped lanes in POS, Gateway and sync agent. No schema, timestamp or transport changes. Desktop installations still need the updated bundled API/frontend; live offline/reconnect testing and a desktop installer are not part of this hotfix. See docs/SOLD_OUT_CATALOGUE.md.

Merged to develop. Anyone can test this - you do not need write access.

Try it at https://develop.posnic.io, or run it yourself:

git fetch origin develop && git checkout develop
npm install && npm --prefix api install
npm run dev # then http://localhost:3000

When you have tested it, say what you did and what happened, and set
QA passed or QA failed. If you cannot set labels, just comment -
a maintainer will.

Reporting that something is broken is as useful as fixing it. It is
better found here than by a shopkeeper.
