Kavelune is an independent command-line coding agent.
Kavelune 0.1.0 is designed as a public, unpromoted binary prerelease for
Linux x86_64 and Apple Silicon macOS. CI builds the downloadable archives from
one qualified release-only child commit; users do not need a Rust toolchain.
The release is never latest or stable and has no installer, package-manager
channel, or automatic updater. After qualification, CI durably promotes that
child to a protected candidate ref, and an authorized operator creates one ordinary
annotated tag; its push is the sole normal release ingress, while CI owns
private-draft staging, publication, and audit. See

The normal development workspace intentionally reports 0.0.0 (source build).
That sentinel is never an official release binary. To build it for development:

./target/debug/kavelune --versionPublication remains blocked until the canonical repository, protected release environments, signing identities, native inputs, approvals, and durable audit storage are provisioned and verified. OpenAI's Codex distribution channels install a different product and are never used as a fallback.
OpenAI service integration is retained. You can use an OpenAI API key or select Sign in with ChatGPT when running Kavelune. OpenAI authentication, service endpoints, headers, provider identifiers, model identifiers, and hosted plugin contracts are interoperability data, not Kavelune identity.
Kavelune can consume compatible Claude Code settings.json files when it is
invoked normally or through its app-server/SDK interfaces. It is not an
embedded backend for Claude Cowork: it does not inspect
CLAUDE_CODE_USE_COWORK_PLUGINS or load cowork_settings.json. Invoking
Kavelune from a Cowork workflow does not change that settings scope.
