I'm Kaffee, I work at the intersection of open-source software and photography.
I tend to start projects in a chaotic burst—moving fast and pushing hard until everything clicks.
I’m an electromechanics technician, that shapes the way I approach systems: direct, and grounded in UNIX and KISS principles.
Lately I’ve been exploring v8 and the Node API to build highly optimized tools for Node, Deno, and Bun.
Projects like Mon2tr, a low-memory HTTP/2 client, and a more efficient text encoder/decoder are part of that work, along with experiments toward a cleaner async/await model.
Open-source is my preferred environment; it gives me the freedom to build systems that stay lean, purposeful, and transparent.
I’m currently building Hibiscus, a digital abstract compositor written in C.
