Getting started with Controller Notify takes under 2 minutes!
- Go to the GitHub Releases page.
- Download the latest
Controller-Notify-Setup-1.0.0.exeinstaller. - Double-click to install — Controller Notify will launch automatically in your Windows system tray near the clock! 🎮
You can add channels individually or import your whole YouTube watchlist at once:
- Go to Google Takeout.
- Deselect all, check YouTube and YouTube Music, click All YouTube data included, select subscriptions, and export.
- Open Controller Notify settings, go to 👥 Channels > ➕ Add & Import.
- Drag & drop your exported
subscriptions.csvfile into the box. Done! All your favorite streamers are now monitored!
- Go to 👥 Channels > ➕ Add & Import.
- Type or paste any creator's
@handle(e.g.,@VanTungor@tarik) or channel URL. - Click Add.
- Open the ⚙️ General settings tab.
- Select your favorite theme from the App Color Theme dropdown (e.g., 💜 Atomic Purple or 📟 Game Boy Classic).
- Select your preferred desktop corner from Popup Corner (Bottom Right, Bottom Left, Top Right, or Top Left).
- Enter an image URL or local file path under Custom Controller Image if you'd like a personalized mascot!
- Click 🧪 Test Notification to preview your popup sliding onto your screen.
- Click 💾 Save Settings.

Stream Playback Option: You can choose whether clicking a live popup opens the stream in your default browser or directly in Controller Notify's built-in mini player window!
Controller Notify runs unobtrusively in your system tray. Right-click the 🎮 icon near your Windows clock for quick controls:
- 🔄 Check Now: Trigger an instant check across all monitored channels.
- 🔔 Show Notifications: Global toggle to pause or resume popup popups.
- ⚙️ Settings: Open the spacious customization window.
- ❌ Quit: Safely exit the application.
Do I need a YouTube API key?
Nope! Controller Notify works 100% out of the box with zero setup required using our free 0-quota background monitoring engine. Providing an API key is completely optional.
How do I mute alerts for a specific streamer without removing them?
Go to 👥 Channels > 📋 Monitored Channels and click the 🔔 icon next to the channel to toggle it to 🔕 (Muted). You will still see their live status in the 🔴 Live Now Hub, but popups won't disturb you!
Does this app use a lot of RAM or lag my games?
Not at all! Controller Notify uses under 50MB RAM when minimized to tray and 0% background GPU resources. It is optimized specifically for low overhead while gaming.
Where are my channel watchlists and settings saved?
All preferences and watchlists are stored locally on your PC in encrypted system app storage. No account registration or external tracking servers required.
