Purpose

Activate the Aset-approved Tobi public naming contract across the current-facing surfaces of OrganeticSphere/tobi-validator before the first long-form GitHub Action/category article.

Approved public lockup:

Tobi Validator
Reasoning Artifact Validator

Approved category line:

Deterministic validation for canonical reasoning artifacts.

Approved positioning sentence:

Tobi Validator deterministically validates and canonicalizes
Tsubasa reasoning artifacts for use at workflow boundaries.

Stage 1 remains valid for internal engineering, compatibility, immutable release identifiers, and historical evidence, but is retired as a current public product designation.

Exact state

Base:

main @ c88510a43b3132b95f9e7f3d679add4503a220f4

Final head:

docs/activate-tobi-public-naming @ 2839645d6e743bd48f43a8c4e310d2fb66022ccc

Final correction commit:

docs: close final public naming review findings

Ancestry:

ahead: 46
behind: 0

PR remains Draft, open, mergeable, and unmerged.

Changed contour

19 changed files:

  • README product lockup, category line, Action presentation, scope, and limitation copy
  • action.yml display metadata only
  • NOTICE.md delivery wording reconciled with the live evaluation-broker path
  • contact and security guidance
  • current-facing onboarding, install, diagnostics, support, governance, conformance, agent, and interim Tsubasa reference copy
  • issue-template display language
  • GitHub Action example display name and workflow-policy boundary note
  • .github/workflows/public-surface-check.yml public naming/claim guard

Physical filenames and repository slugs containing STAGE1 / stage1 are retained for link stability. Compatibility-sensitive identifiers remain unchanged.

Language and canonicalization guards

The public model is explicit:

authored Tsubasa source
→ validation and Tsubasa canonicalization through Tobi
→ accepted:
    canonical ASCII + _h compatibility identity
  OR rejected:
    deterministic diagnostics

The copy does not teach that submitted source is already canonical. The Tsubasa language contract owns semantics and canonical rules; Tobi is the reference validator that implements and operationally enforces that contract.

The interim document is titled:

Tsubasa Public Syntax and Authoring Reference

It is explicitly distinct from the forthcoming complete Tsubasa Language Reference book.

Workflow-policy boundary

Tobi supplies validator success or failure.

The consuming workflow owns:

  • allow
  • block
  • merge
  • release
  • escalation policy

The governance flow now branches accepted and rejected outputs explicitly rather than collapsing canonical output, _h, and diagnostics into one result line.

Preserved implementation and compatibility surface

No validator implementation, behavior, semantics, delivery mechanism, or compatibility identity changed.

Preserved exactly:

  • Action modes canon and golden
  • absence of a validate mode
  • TOBI_EVAL_TOKEN
  • OrganeticSphere/tobi-validator@v1
  • stage1-tobi-validator-v0.7.0 default release identifier
  • release asset names and checksums
  • validator commands, execution path, inputs, exits, diagnostics, canonicalization behavior, and _h
  • controlled validator delivery through the evaluation broker

action.yml differs from the base only in three display-description lines: Action name, Action description, and release-tag input description.

The released stage1-tobi-validator-v0.7.0 binary still prints the historical CLI banner AI Verification Engine / Tobi Validator; this documentation migration does not rewrite an immutable released binary.

Claim boundaries preserved

The migrated copy states or preserves that:

  • _h is compatibility identity only
  • canonical equality does not establish factual truth
  • validator acceptance is not universal correctness
  • Tobi is not a theorem prover or universal truth engine
  • Tobi does not expose a general artifact-comparison command
  • downstream workflow policy is not owned by Tobi
  • the public Action wrapper is not a public verification API
  • the production validator implementation is not open source
  • no future Organetic consensus product is presented as available

The ambiguous heading Proof-by-example repository is replaced with Validator-Backed Example Repository.

Public-surface CI

Workflow:

Public surface checks / Public naming and documentation

Exact-head run:

run: #20
head: 2839645d6e743bd48f43a8c4e310d2fb66022ccc
conclusion: SUCCESS

The workflow now uses:

uses: actions/checkout@v7
with:
  persist-credentials: false

The workflow verifies:

  • residual current-facing Stage 1 wording
  • the single documented historical CLI-banner occurrence
  • collision with the future complete Tsubasa book title
  • prohibited proof/drift/comparison/gating/semantic-equivalence wording
  • explicit accepted/rejected branching in the governance flow
  • preservation of canon and golden
  • absence of validate
  • preservation of the release identifier
  • JSON fixtures
  • relative links
  • Markdown fences
  • trailing whitespace

The exact-head run validated all 18 current public-surface files successfully.

No runtime/validator execution test was required or claimed because the implementation and Action execution body are unchanged.

External repository metadata

The GitHub About-description is outside the Git tree. Its target current-facing text is:

Tobi Validator — Reasoning Artifact Validator. Deterministic validation for canonical Tsubasa reasoning artifacts.

This metadata update must be applied through a repository-settings-capable GitHub interface; it does not change the PR head.

Review request

Main should review exact head:

2839645d6e743bd48f43a8c4e310d2fb66022ccc

Review points:

  1. compliance with TOBI_PUBLIC_NAMING_CONTRACT_v0_2.md;
  2. explicit accepted/rejected output branching;
  3. preservation of product and limitation claims;
  4. classification of retained legacy identifiers;
  5. readiness for the subsequent website migration and X Article.

Main exact-head review findings from f03572b05f16237917a5571f426f8551d1a1079e have been addressed on the new correction head:

bc36264d42426c62b5ad83c6e34f5bea04b914c4

P2 closure implemented:

  1. Current CLI help-banner mismatch

    • the install guide now states that the released stage1-tobi-validator-v0.7.0 binary still prints the historical AI Verification Engine / Tobi Validator lockup;
    • the naming migration is explicitly documentation-only and does not claim the released binary banner changed.
  2. Interim Tsubasa reference naming collision

    • the existing document is now titled Tsubasa Public Syntax and Authoring Reference;
    • it is explicitly classified as an interim reference for the current released validator corridor;
    • it explicitly does not replace the forthcoming complete Tsubasa Language Reference book.
  3. Unsupported broad artifact-comparison wording

    • removed wording that represented Tobi as a general artifact-comparison mechanism;
    • current copy limits Tobi to acceptance/rejection, canonical output, _h compatibility identity, deterministic diagnostics, and golden conformance;
    • comparison language now refers to users or workflows recording and comparing observed canonical results under the same validator contract.
  4. Workflow-gate authority overstatement

    • current copy now states consistently that Tobi supplies validator success/failure;
    • the consuming workflow owns allow/block/merge/release/escalation policy;
    • README, NOTICE, SECURITY, CONTACT, workflow-fit template, Action starter, support guidance, agent guidance, governance note, and example workflow were aligned.

P3 handling:

  • drift-equivalent terminology removed;
  • _h is described as compatibility identity, while HASH: is identified only as the CLI display label;
  • duplicate wording and canonical meaning / canonical truth phrasing removed from current-facing surfaces;
  • a PR-triggered Public surface checks workflow was added, registering a GitHub CI context and guarding naming, claim boundaries, Action surface, links, JSON, Markdown fences, and formatting.

Exact-head CI:

Public surface checks / Public naming and documentation
run #18
conclusion: SUCCESS

Preserved unchanged:

  • Action modes canon and golden only;
  • no validate mode;
  • TOBI_EVAL_TOKEN;
  • OrganeticSphere/tobi-validator@v1;
  • stage1-tobi-validator-v0.7.0;
  • Action execution body, broker path, checksum handling, commands, exits, validator behavior, semantics, diagnostics, canonicalization, and _h mechanics.

The PR remains Draft. No merge or Ready transition was performed. Renewed Main exact-head review is requested on bc36264d42426c62b5ad83c6e34f5bea04b914c4.

FINAL CORRECTION HEAD AFTER MAIN DIRECT EDIT

The remaining Main review findings were corrected in one commit:

HEAD: 2839645d6e743bd48f43a8c4e310d2fb66022ccc
COMMIT: docs: close final public naming review findings

Closed:

  • governance flow now branches accepted output (canonical ASCII + _h compatibility identity) from rejected output (deterministic diagnostics);
  • public-surface CI rejects the former collapsed canonical ASCII / _h / diagnostics form and requires the explicit branch;
  • the new workflow now uses actions/checkout@v7 with persist-credentials: false.

Exact-head CI:

WORKFLOW: Public surface checks / Public naming and documentation
RUN: #20
CONCLUSION: SUCCESS

The PR body now records the exact final head, 19-file contour, 46/0 ancestry, final correction, and CI evidence.

The GitHub About-description is external repository metadata, not part of the Git tree. Target text is recorded in the PR body:

Tobi Validator — Reasoning Artifact Validator. Deterministic validation for canonical Tsubasa reasoning artifacts.

The PR remains Draft, open, mergeable, and unmerged. No further branch commits are planned before final exact-head disposition.
