Refs #334 (not closing: #334 gets rewritten and closed separately).

The #334 panel-blank generator shipped as its own FreeCAD 1.1+ workbench, OpenSkyHawk/CockpitPanels: Panel Blank → Plate Stack → Export Layers. This updates the CAD docs to match.

Changes

  • docs/hardware/cad-workflow.md: new Panel base blank section. Covers the Addon Manager install (custom repository, branch main) and gives a feature-level summary of the three tools. The deep tables stay in the workbench README.
  • docs/_source/cad-cutout-library/ (index, library-part, lcs-placement, array-placement):
    • Library parts carry one sketch per Plate Stack layer, named exactly FacePlate, Diffuser, BackPlate (was FacePlate/BackPlate only).
    • Panel Blank makes no ControlPoints sketch. The user creates their own points sketch on XY, outside the Panel Blank group, dimensioned from the origin (the panel centre).
    • Binders and pockets go inside the layer Bodies that Plate Stack builds, after the stack's own <Layer>_Pocket (check the Body's Tip).
    • The Body-placement note is updated. Plate Stack leaves every Body at the origin and sets each layer's depth on its outline binder, so Through-all pockets still cut. Don't move a Body.
    • Export Layers flattens each plate to one DXF, on one layer named after the Body.
    • Object counts in the method table are now for 3 layers. The tree diagrams show the Panel Blank / Plate Stack groups and the Diffuser. FrontPlate was renamed FacePlate.
    • Screenshots are unchanged. They come from the earlier two-layer demos, and the text says so.
  • .claude/skills/cad/SKILL.md: short pointer to the workbench and its three tools.

Verified

  • mkdocs build -f docs/mkdocs.yml succeeds with no warnings for these pages. The new #panel-base-blank anchor and the mechanical-standards#dzus-rail-mounting-mil-f-25173a link both resolve in the built site.

…nch (#334)

The #334 panel-blank generator shipped as the standalone FreeCAD workbench
OpenSkyHawk/CockpitPanels (Panel Blank, Plate Stack, Export Layers).

- cad-workflow: new Panel base blank section (install + the three tools)
- cutout library: three Plate Stack layers (FacePlate/Diffuser/BackPlate),
user-made points sketch on XY, binders + pockets after <Layer>_Pocket,
  Export Layers one-DXF-per-Body note
- cad skill: pointer to the workbench

📝 Docs site may need an update

This PR touches files the docs site is built from. Before merging,
confirm the published pages still match:

  • New hardware (panel / PCB / CAD) has a matching page under docs/
  • Changed design decisions are reflected on the relevant page
    (e.g. architecture/design-decisions.md, the hardware reference)
  • No page now contradicts docs/_source/ or hardware-standards.md
  • Structured tables (NODE_IDs, pinouts) are transcluded, not retyped

Backstop: the weekly docs-drift review. Ignore docs/api/ (auto-generated).
