Phase 2: narrative review figures

Summary

Phase 2 of epic #46 (TiCS narrative review). Four SVG figures plus QA reports under manuscript/narrative-review/figures/.

• Fig 1 — strand map (single-column): four perspectives by 15 corpus themes; legend uses perspective-colour swatches.
• Fig 2 — naturalness gradient (two-column): 6 stimulus types by 3 cohort bands; target cell at (child, character animation) highlighted; modality encoded by shape AND colour.
• Fig 3 — gap matrix (two-column): 8 gaps by 4 prior-effort axes; "no coverage" cells in vermillion dashed border for visual unity with the no-coverage label.
• Fig 4 — predictions (two-column): 4 perspectives by topography (with head schematic), band, latency, pre-registered falsification region.

All figures use the Okabe-Ito colourblind-safe palette and Helvetica family.

QA reports

figures:figure-qa ran on each figure (saved as fig{N}_*_qa.md alongside the SVG). All four landed at "revise". Fixes applied in this PR:

• Fig 1: legend grey swatch replaced with four perspective-colour circles so the legend doubles as a colour key.
• Fig 2: target-cell label colour changed from off-palette #8a3b00 to neutral #333333; fMRI circle and EEG square in the child / character-animation cell separated by 8 px.
• Fig 3: column-header opacities for "intracranial / MEG" and "behavioural / eye-tracking" raised from 0.62 / 0.46 to 0.92 / 0.86 so white text passes WCAG AA contrast; all 14 instances of #8a3b00 replaced with Okabe-Ito vermillion #D55E00 for palette unity.
• All figures: PNG re-exported at 300 dpi (Cell Press print floor) with explicit DPI metadata.

Deferred to Phase 5 (final journal-specific assembly):

• Font-size 1.5x rescale for single-column print. The figures read correctly on screen at the current scale; the rescale is a final-formatting step coupled to the chosen column width per Cell Press production guidance.

Test plan

• All 4 SVGs render via rsvg-convert -d 300 -p 300 without errors
• Pre-commit (markdownlint, typos, trim-whitespace) passes
• Visual inspection of all 4 PNGs at native resolution: legends, labels, and markers all visible without overlap
• No off-palette colours remain (#8a3b00 removed from Figs 2 and 3)
• Final single-column rescale checked at Phase 5 with the journal-specific column width
