Vertx-project-template

This project template can be used to build high-throughput and configurable web services based on Vert.x.

Building

To launch tests:

mvn clean test

To package application:

mvn clean package

To run application:

 java -jar vertx-project-template.jar run [configs] os.demo.web.verticles.MainVerticle

For example: java -jar vertx-project-template.jar run --instances 3 os.demo.web.verticles.MainVerticle

JVM options can be used to override default configurations. E.g.: java -Dport=9090 -jar vertx-project-template.jar run os.demo.web.verticles.MainVerticle

run java -jar vertx-project-template.jar run --help to get additional information on command arguments

To run as a worker

If you’re going to use some blocking method directly or indirectly (IO operation, CPU intensive task, etc.), it makes sense to take a look at Vert.x blocking API and deploy verticle as a worker.

 java -jar vertx-project-template.jar run --worker --instances -1 os.demo.web.verticles.MainVerticle

To run performance tests

    mvn gatling:test
