abstract-gas helps you check how much gas and fees you will pay when sending transactions on Abstract’s ZKsync Layer 2. It shows three main costs:
- Execution gas: How much computational effort your transaction uses.
- Pubdata costs: The cost of storing data on Layer 2.
- Layer 1 fees: Fees charged on Ethereum’s main network.
This tool helps you avoid surprises when making Ethereum transactions on Abstract.
To run abstract-gas on your Windows machine, you need:
- Windows 10 or later (64-bit recommended)
- At least 4 GB of RAM
- 100 MB of free disk space
- Internet connection to check fees in real time
You do not need any programming tools or special software. abstract-gas comes ready to use.

- Click the Start button.
- Search for "abstract-gas."
- Click the app icon to launch it.
The app shows simple fields to fill:
- Input the amount and type of transaction you plan to send.
- Add extra information if needed, like whether you want faster processing.
abstract-gas will display:
- Execution gas cost in gas units.
- Pubdata cost in Layer 2 storage fees.
- Layer 1 fee in Ethereum gas costs.
Try changing transaction size or speed preferences to see how fees change.
This helps you pick the cheapest or fastest option for your needs.
- Check for updates regularly from the release page.
- Keep your internet connection on to get live fee data.
- If numbers seem off, restart the app to refresh the data.
abstract-gas uses TypeScript and works with ZKsync Layer 2. It connects to Abstract’s network to pull the latest fee data and calculate costs.
The tool is designed to be lightweight and simple. It focuses only on showing fees clearly.
If you have trouble running abstract-gas:
- Make sure your Windows version is up to date.
- Confirm you downloaded the correct
.exeinstaller. - Restart your PC if the app does not open.
- Temporarily disable any antivirus software that might block the app.
If the problem takes longer, you can visit the releases page again or seek help from the project community.
abstract-gas supports transactions related to:
- Ethereum and L2 gas estimation
- ZKsync Layer 2 protocol
- Gas saving and cost transparency
You don’t need to understand blockchain deeply to use it. The app does all the calculations for you.
