Version bump + changelog for 0.2.0. Everything else is already on main.

Why now

0.1.2 (live on PyPI since last night) shipped the SDK only; the README on main already advertises pip install portable-memory && mem paste …. This release makes that true. It also fixes portable_memory.__version__ (the 0.1.2 wheel reports 0.1.0).

Changes

  • pyproject.toml + portable_memory/__init__.py: 0.1.2 → 0.2.0 (test-enforced to match).
  • CHANGELOG.md: [Unreleased] → [0.2.0] - 2026-09-14 — TransferTextAdapter, mem CLI, InMemoryStore, README demo GIF, __version__ fix; compare links.

Verified locally

pytest green · python -m build + twine check PASSED · wheel installs in a clean venv → mem --version prints portable-memory 0.2.0.

After merge

Tag 0.2.0 on main → publish a GitHub release → the trusted-publishing workflow puts it on PyPI automatically (proven on 0.1.2). Pairs with the same-named Swift PR.

pyproject + __version__ → 0.2.0; CHANGELOG [Unreleased] → [0.2.0] (TransferTextAdapter,
mem CLI, InMemoryStore, README demo GIF; __version__ fix). 0.1.2 shipped the SDK only —
this is the release the README's 'pip install portable-memory && mem paste' refers to.
