Hi, I'm Kilian!

I am:

  • DevOps Engineer TelCo / SimCards @telekom
  • Backend / Infrastructure Admin @GlobalBases.com GmbH
  • Chairman @FabLab Ansbach
  • Certified things breaker at all of the above.

What I work with

Kubernetes: Helm, FluxCD, SOPS, Service Mesh / Istio
Automation: Ansible, Chef Infra
Development: GoLang, Python, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, OpenCode
Monitoring / Analytics: Elastic/Kibana (ELK Stack), Prometheus + Grafana, Icinga2

Outside of work

I run and experiment with a homelab, including Linux servers, containers, storage, networking and Wi-Fi infrastructure. I'm interested in understanding how things actually work rather than just consuming them as black boxes.

I also spend time with 3D printing, laser engraving, electronics and making things, and generally enjoy projects where software meets physical hardware.

Things I care about:

  • Automation over repetitive manual work
  • Reproducibility over tribal knowledge
  • Open source over unnecessary vendor lock-in
  • Security as part of the design, not an afterthought
  • Infrastructure that can be understood and maintained
  • Learning by actually building things
  • Human Rights, Democracy and standing up against fascism
