On 2026-09-27 the maintainer decided that the joint walkthrough for the 1.0 release lives in contentvalidR, as vignette("one-item-set-both-stages"), linking to nomologR's guided workflow for the empirical stage. This PR makes the vignette say so and brings its nomologR section up to date. No code and no computed value changes.

The vignette

  • It names itself the joint walkthrough for contentvalidR and its partner package nomologR. It also says why it runs without nomologR: the empirical steps use base R.
  • It passes the handoff whole. The shown-not-run chunk now reads:
    screened <- nomo_screen(responses, items = h)
    run <- nomo_run(responses, scales = h)
It used to pass h$items, which drops the held-back items' reasons, the keying, and the response scale. nomologR checked both calls on its master branch against the 0.9.0 walkthrough handoff: nomo_screen() screens exactly the ten carried items, and nomo_run() takes the EF and TF scales from the handoff and ignores the id and cohort columns.
  • It links to nomologR's guided workflow, at its section Starting from content review. I checked that the anchor exists on nomologR's live site.
  • Two stale sentences are corrected:
    • The vignette said reading the handoff directly was tracked on nomologR#46. That reader shipped in nomologR 0.3.0.
    • It said nomologR mirrors the walkthrough's response file, so both packages show the same numbers. They don't. nomologR's article starts from the same handoff, which it ships, but simulates its own responses. The items, decisions, and keying match; the screening numbers don't, and the vignette now says so.

Elsewhere

  • The ROADMAP's release-candidate checklist marks the walkthrough item as decided. It notes that nomologR has agreed to link its article back to it.
  • NEWS has a short entry.

The vignette's page is already live on the site (HTTP 200). nomologR has added its link back to it in JUhalt/nomologR#108, which is under review there.

Verification

  • The vignette knits.
  • Spelling is clean.
  • tools/release-gate.R on this PR's head (78ea77e), run in a detached worktree: build, smoke, and check all pass. R CMD check: 0 errors, 0 warnings, and only the two expected notes (New submission; math rendering skipped without V8).

The maintainer decided on 2026-09-27 that the joint walkthrough for the
1.0 release lives in contentvalidR. vignette("one-item-set-both-stages")
now says it is that walkthrough, and that its empirical steps use base R
so it runs with contentvalidR alone.

The nomologR calls now pass the handoff itself, nomo_screen(responses,
items = h) and nomo_run(responses, scales = h), so the held-back items,
their reasons, the keying, and the response scale travel with the names.
nomologR checked both calls on its master branch. The vignette links to
the "Starting from content review" section of nomologR's guided workflow.

Two stale sentences are corrected. The vignette called reading the
handoff directly future work on nomologR#46, which shipped in nomologR
0.3.0. It also said nomologR mirrors the walkthrough response file; its
article starts from the same handoff but simulates its own responses, so
the items, decisions, and keying match while the screening numbers do not.

ROADMAP.md marks the walkthrough item of the release-candidate checklist
as decided.

Release contentvalidR 0.10.0

Stamps the version, release notes, citation metadata, README, and roadmap
for the tenth public release, the last planned before the joint 1.0
release candidate on 2026-10-17. It adds figures for papers, posters, and
teaching: content_evidence() with its item flow diagram and item evidence
profile, the rating-distribution view, and the apa switch (#82). It also
states the handoff contract nomologR reads (#79), makes this package's
walkthrough the joint one (#80, #81), separates the Delphi printout's
caveats from its teaching (#78), and records the release-candidate
timeline (#83).

No computed value changes: 25 analyses across every workflow return the
same values as v0.9.0. No breaking changes: the plot methods gain
arguments after their existing ones. agreement_summary() remains
deprecated and is removed in 1.0.0.

contentvalidR 0.4.0 has been on CRAN since 2026-09-28. CRAN asks for
updates no more often than every one to two months, so 0.10.0 is released
on GitHub and R-universe only.
