Goal

Summarize a manuscript's route using transparent, local calculations.

Scope

• Days in major workflow stages.
• Number of journals/submissions.
• Reroute count.
• Review and revision durations where dates are available.
• Time from initial manuscript start/submission to publication.
• Per-manuscript route summary and reusable calculation service for later library-wide analytics.

Acceptance

• Statistics are derived only from stored PaperRoute history.
• Missing dates produce clearly missing/partial statistics rather than fabricated values.
• Calculations are deterministic and unit-tested.
• Analytics never alter manuscript history.
• No telemetry or remote analytics service is required.

Route-report acceptance

The v0.7 roadmap also promises print-friendly route reports.

• Specify the initial report format during design; evaluate a self-contained printable HTML report that can be archived and printed to PDF, without promising every export format.
• Include the selected manuscript's route and transparent date/metric definitions; show missing/partial dates rather than fabricated durations.
• Distinguish observed events from record-entry/edit dates and explain how ongoing intervals and revision rounds are handled.
• Let the user preview the selected content and exclude private correspondence, notes, and file paths before sharing.
• Verify readable printing and archive reopening using synthetic histories, including missing dates and multiple submission rounds.
• Export and printing leave the manuscript history unchanged and work without a remote analytics service.

This report work complements existing publication/CV exports, which do not represent the manuscript's full route.
