Community Voices is an automated moderation utility that highlights posts and comments from verified professionals, VIPs, or specific community members.
In large threads, authoritative or expert comments often get buried. This app solves that by automatically detecting replies from your recognized users and aggregating them into a single, constantly updating pinned comment at the top of the post.
- Persistent Pinned Summaries: Detects comments from designated VIP users and compiles them into a unified pinned moderator comment.
- Smart Clutter Prevention: Instead of creating multiple new comments and unpinning old ones, the app continuously edits its single persistent summary comment. It displays up to 5 blockquoted previews and links any additional replies in a clean overflow list.
- Flexible VIP Recognition: Define your VIPs via specific usernames or by user flairs (e.g., "Pilot", "Developer", "Verified").
- Post & Comment Auto-Flairing: Optionally configure the app to automatically update the post's flair when a VIP submits a new post or replies to an existing thread.
- Auto-Sticky Posts: Automatically pin new posts made by VIP users to Slot 1 or Slot 2.
- Opt-Out Command: VIP users can start their comment with
!ignore(or a custom command of your choice) to prevent the bot from adding that specific comment to the pinned summary.
Community Voices operates 100% in the background. There are no manual forms or context menus for your moderation team to use.
Everything is configured directly inside Devvit's native App Settings page. After installing, simply define your VIP criteria (usernames or flairs), customize your summary descriptor (e.g., "There are X comments from verified professionals in this post"), and toggle your desired flair/sticky automations on or off.
