fix(podcasts): bound the episodes a channel lists and refuse a downgrading redirect - #345
Follows a read-only review of the podcast code. It confirmed the address rules (every resolved address public, the connection pinned, each redirect rechecked, no proxy read from the environment, DTDs refused) and raised three points this PR settles.
What changes
A channel lists at most its newest 500 episodes. Episodes are never purged: a refresh adds what a feed newly names and keeps the rest. So a daily show grew every listing by about 365 rows a year, and getPodcasts, which answers every channel with its episodes by default, read them one channel at a time.
The listing now keeps the newest MAX_EPISODES_LISTED per channel. That bound is the per-feed one, 500.
Episodes past the bound that are completed or downloading are still listed. They hold a share of the quota, and the listing is where an administrator deletes them.
Every channel is read in one statement, ROW_NUMBER() OVER (PARTITION BY channel_id …), then grouped by channel.
episode_count still counts every episode.
An https address may not redirect to http. This is refused whatever WAVEFLOW_PODCAST_ALLOW_HTTP says. The switch admits feeds and enclosures served in clear; it does not let a secure address hand its request, and a private feed's token, to a clear one. The check sits in next_hop, which every redirect goes through, and it covers feeds, enclosures, covers and station images.
The subscribe field says the show is shared. Every account sees the show and can play its downloaded episodes, and only administrators see the feed address. The text is linked to the field by aria-describedby.
Plain http stays allowed by default, for the many enclosures still served that way. docs/privacy.md already documented that choice and now mentions the downgrade rule.
Tests
tests/podcasts.rs, a_channel_lists_its_newest_episodes_and_every_stored_one, checks two cases:
One channel with 514 episodes, one of them stored past the bound. It lists 501: the newest 500 in order, then the stored one. episode_count is 514.
getPodcasts over two channels. Each channel gets back only its own episodes.
podcast::tests::a_redirect_never_leaves_https_for_http checks https→https, relative paths, http→https and http→http, and refuses https→http, including an uppercase HTTP://.
The Playwright spec checks the field's accessible description.
Every test was inverted, and each inversion made its test fail:

Before / after behavior

@coderabbitai Outside-diff note on src/podcast.rs (scheme-relative targets): fixed in a7d35cb. The test now asserts that //cdn.example.org/show.xml resolves to https from an https hop and to http from an http hop. Its doc comment no longer claims a scheme-relative target can downgrade: it keeps the scheme it came from.
