Summary

Replaces the README with the revised plain-language version, which centres on whether containment actually worked, with stronger caveats up front.

Three fixes on top of the supplied text:

  • Broken link: "scenario matrix" pointed to docs/claims.md, which has no scenario matrix. It now points to haltai scenarios and docs/baseline-checklist.md.
  • Install: added the git clone step, because pip install -e needs a checkout.
  • Safety: kept the drill refusal guards and haltai rollback --confirm in the AWS section. They are the documented way to recover from an interrupted drill.

Not carried over from the previous README (on purpose, per the revision):

  • the evidence-level table;
  • the full scenario table;
  • the configuration/backend switch section;
  • the ISO 13850 / IEC 61511 valve analogy;
  • the repository layout.

Evidence levels remain documented in docs/roadmap.md (section 6), and the scenarios in haltai scenarios and docs/baseline-checklist.md.

Checks

  • Every relative link resolves
  • Every command cited works (haltai scenarios, haltai check -s agent_can_lift_deny)

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Apply the revised README. Fixes on top: scenario link pointed at
claims.md, which has no matrix; add the clone step; keep the drill
refusal guards and haltai rollback --confirm visible.
