Thanks for raising this @chenyulun . We can't do anything about historic releases like 0.1.5 but all future releases will be smaller as a result of your feedback. We isolated the issue to the macos build containing some build artefacts that aren't required for the release and we'll modify our release process to remove them in future.

Update — release process fixed

The oversized @hypabolic/hypa-darwin-x64 package was caused by shipping AOT debug-symbol sidecars produced when StripSymbols=true:

• macOS: bin/hypa.dSYM/... (DWARF)
• Linux: *.dbg
• Windows: *.pdb

Those are not needed at runtime (the binary is already stripped) but were copied wholesale into the release archive and thus into the npm platform package.

Fix (in flight)

PR: #92 — Exclude AOT debug sidecars from release packages

Changes:

1. Release Package step — delete *.dSYM / *.pdb / *.dbg after publish copy, before tar/zip (covers GitHub releases, npm, and PyPI inputs).
2. npm platform staging — second-pass find cleanup after extract.
3. PyPI wheel extract — skip those paths when building wheels.

Expectations

• Historic versions (including 0.1.5) cannot be rewritten on npm; cnpm’s “too many large versions” limit may still need a whitelist entry until enough small versions exist or large ones age out.
• Next release of @hypabolic/hypa-darwin-x64 should drop well under the ~80 MB allow size (runtime binary + grammar only).

Closing this issue when #92 merges (Closes #90).

The initial issue was:
When I downloaded the latest version, 0.1.12, I noticed that when installing the optional dependency @hypabolic/hypa@0.1.12 using the repository https://npmmirror.com/package/, @hypabolic/hypa-darwin-x64@0.1.12 was missing.
