Artifacts for regions larger than 4k

When I try to generate an image of size 2048x6144, the image is like below, where the regions beyond 2048x4096 shows such block artifacts, I wonder how can I get results like the teaser figure

Thanks for your interest! For resolutions larger than 4096, indeed, there can be artifacts like this result. We use the low-resolution-guidance technique in I-Max to tackle the problem.

But do you know why it will have such artifacts for FLUX?

I speculate that the maximal resolution seen by the model during the pre-training stage is 4096.

As stated in their official blog (https://bfl.ai/blog/24-08-01-bfl), all FLUX.1 model variants support a diverse range of aspect ratios and resolutions in 0.1 and 2.0 megapixels. Typically, the most extreme aspect ratio used in training is 1:4, corresponding to 1024x4096 or 4096x1024. In this way, the longest edge for the spatial dimensions is 4096 in the pre-training stage. It can be difficult for us to tackle this through post-training.
