As it stands, a student can build a nice editor in Project 7 and not use it at all in Project 10 at Level 2.
Perhaps "create a text file" can be part of Project 10, Level 1, in order to get the editor in use. Level 3 can focus on replacing currently-existing files or appending to them or something.
