Calendar View on Mobile

The table method of recording a calendar of activities, quizzes, due dates, etc, has become too wide, and does not look good on mobile. I'm thinking of making a better structure for course calendars in general, to move away from teamGantt for my calendars, so maybe putting some structured data in _config.yml or somewhere else and then scripting it out into a table or calendar view will work??

That sounds fantastic @mgoadric ! Editing the tables has become incredibly painful. I didn't realize there was the problem on mobile.

Editing the tables is so painful that at the beginning of this semester I made my own Haskell tool that reads a yaml file with information about the calendar and then spits out formatted Markdown code.

It works pretty well for me but the one thing I learned from doing the exercise is that it is nontrivial to build something like this that is general enough to work for all possible use cases. The kinds of information I want in a calendar, the columns I want, etc. depend a lot on the individual class.

Next week I'd be happy to write up a formal grammar specifying the .yaml format I've been using, if that would be helpful as a starting point.
