Summary

When the Frontend e2e job fails, the artifact step uploads packages/frontend/playwright-report/. With the list reporter (playwright.config.ts) that folder is never written, so a failed run has nothing to download. The release PR for 0.37.0 is an example: card-trial.spec.ts:224 failed on both attempts and no trace was kept.

Traces (trace: 'on-first-retry') and the error-context files are written to test-results/, and that is what this PR uploads now.

Changes

  • .github/workflows/playwright.yml: upload packages/frontend/test-results/ on failure as playwright-test-results, with if-no-files-found: ignore and 14-day retention.

Type

  • Other: CI

Testing

  • Ran the same upload step with if: always() on a throwaway branch through 8 workflow_dispatch runs; the artifact was created. That branch is deleted.
  • No application code changes.

Related

card-trial.spec.ts:224 ("a new cloud admin is offered the card trial once") is flaky on GitHub runners:

  • the first attempt failed on 6 of 30 runs since 18 Oct (URL /welcome instead of /start-trial), and both attempts failed on the 0.37.0 release PR;
  • it doesn't reproduce locally: 222/222 passed, also with a cold .next and the CI env;
  • 8 dispatched runs with trace: retain-on-failure all passed.

With this change, the next failure leaves a trace to read.
