- Fix tests on Julia 1.11+. The error string for method errors was expanded in 1.11 and no longer matched the expected result.
- Remove an ugly workaround which hasn't been needed since 1.0. (At least not since 1.0.5, possibly was needed on some older 1.0.x. and definitely was needed on 0.7)
- Update the CI configuration.
