We need to substantially expand the test suite across the entire ecosystem. It is not yet quite clear to me what the best way forward is, please suggest ideas, I will then edit and update this posts.
So far, I believe we need (with questions to be decided):
- Unit tests in PROTEUS for all major functions in PROTEUS (which are critical, which are not though?)
- Integration tests (which parts should be tested?)
- Unit tests for all major modules
- The documentation then needs to be extended to describe the tests that are going on (so that it is understandable what is tested where and how to fix it if it breaks)
