fix(daemon): name the exited client when an attach times out on a held port (#1429) - #1731
Fixes#1429. This is request 2; request 1, reclaiming the port, landed in #1727.
Change
An attach that timed out against a port the daemon still held for an exited client reported open_port(…) exceeded 3s; serial driver may be wedged. That sent the investigation into the device and the USB stack.
New handlers::locks::dead_client_holder. It reuses fix(daemon): reclaim serial sessions whose clients have all exited (#1429) #1727's all_clients_dead predicate and describes such a session: the daemon still holds <port> for exited client pid(s) <pids>; it is released within 2s, or run \fbuild daemon clear-locks --port --stale` now`.
The WS attach timeout (open_port_timeout_message, both the initial attach and recovery reopen) and the HTTP monitor timeout check it first. Otherwise they keep the existing port_holders / driver-wedge wording.
Verification
New tests.
dead_client_holder names the dead pid and returns nothing for live or absent sessions.
ws_open_port_timeout_names_a_dead_client_holder runs a hung open against a dead-client session; the message names the pid and the clear-locks --port command and does not say "wedged".
The existing timeout tests are unchanged and still pass.
Checks. All fbuild-daemon tests pass, workspace clippy with -D warnings is clean, and the platform-boundary inventory check passes.

Bug Fixes
Serial-port timeout messages can now identify ports held by clients that have exited, including the recorded process IDs.
When a stale client is detected, the message includes the recommended command for clearing stale locks, making the next troubleshooting step clearer.
Existing timeout guidance remains available when no exited client is found, including details about other port holders or a potentially unresponsive serial driver.
The daemon now detects matching serial sessions whose recorded client PIDs have all exited. Monitor and WebSocket serial-open timeout messages include a stale-lock recovery hint when such a holder is found. Existing fallback messages remain when no dead-client holder is found.
Adds dead_client_holder, which returns a recovery hint for a matching session only when all known client PIDs are recorded and none are alive. Tests cover dead, live, and unmatched ports.
Report dead holders on open timeout crates/fbuild-daemon/src/handlers/operations/monitor.rs, crates/fbuild-daemon/src/handlers/websockets.rs, crates/fbuild-daemon/src/handlers/websockets_tests.rs
Monitor and WebSocket timeout paths use the shared serial manager to check for a dead-client holder. WebSocket attach and deploy-recovery paths pass the manager through; tests check the stale-lock hint and confirm the message does not report a driver wedge.
FastLED/fbuild#1705 — This PR adds diagnostics for exited client holders, but does not resolve active serial-port contention.
Merge Risk: Low · up to 7b8b1
The timeout message names the dead client, but its suggested cleanup command will not clear the port. Correct the command and strengthen the attach-path test; the remaining risk is bounded.

Explanation
For issue #1429 request 2, dead_client_holder checks sessions whose known clients all have exited, names the port and PID values, and gives the reclaim and clear-locks --stale actions. WebSocket initial attach and recovery reopen use open_port_timeout_message, and HTTP monitor checks this diagnostic before the existing holder and driver-wedge messages. The supplied summary reports focused tests for dead, live, and absent sessions and for the WebSocket timeout text. Request 1 is already present at the reviewed head through dead-session reclaim and cleanup paths; this PR targets the diagnostic portion of the issue.

Explanation
The reported changes stay within issue #1429 request 2. They add dead-client holder detection, integrate it into WebSocket and HTTP timeout reporting, and add focused tests. Existing fallback diagnostics remain unchanged. No unrelated behavior is identified in the supplied change summary.

Test the production attach path, not a substitute future.
ws_open_port_timeout_names_a_dead_client_holder passes a pending future directly to await_ws_serial_open_port, so it does not call SharedSerialManager::open_port. The fixture contains an open session without a reader handle; open_port therefore takes the existing-session reuse branch and returns Ok(()) instead of reaching the timeout diagnostic.
The test validates only timeout-message selection. It does not detect a production wiring regression where the WebSocket attach or recovery path stops supplying the real open_port future. Add a production-path test that drives SharedSerialManager::open_port into its retry timeout. Do not change existing-session reuse to satisfy this test.

`fbuild daemon clear-locks --stale` alone sends serial=false, so the unscoped
matcher skips serial sessions. Print `--port <port> --stale` and test that
exact request closes the session (CodeRabbit review on #1731).
…d port (#1429)
An attach that timed out against a port the daemon held for an exited
client said 'serial driver may be wedged'. The WS attach and HTTP monitor
timeout messages now name the dead client pid(s), the automatic reclaim
interval and `fbuild daemon clear-locks --stale`.

Re the CodeRabbit nitpick on websockets_tests.rs (drive the real SharedSerialManager::open_port into its timeout): agreed that the test covers message selection only. With a dead-client session already open, open_port takes the reuse branch and returns Ok, so reaching the timeout needs a port whose open hangs. That has no portable fixture without a fake transport. Both production call sites pass &ctx.serial_manager and the real open_port future, which the compiler checks. Leaving that test as follow-up rather than reshaping the reuse path.
