Enable workspace Clippy checks for sync guards and RefCell borrows held across await, and warn on large futures. Configure the prohibited guard and borrow types in .clippy.toml. Validation: both TOML files parse successfully; git diff --check passes. Full workspace Clippy was not run for this configuration-only submission.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Chores
Automated code checks now flag asynchronous operations that hold locks or active borrows across wait points, as well as unusually large asynchronous tasks. These updates affect development checks only; they do not change available features, app behavior, or the experience for end users. No user-facing changes are included in this release.
Add await_holding_lock, await_holding_refcell_ref and
await_holding_invalid_type (deny) plus large_futures (warn) to the
workspace clippy lints, with an await-holding-invalid-types list of
std sync guards and RefCell borrows that must not live across .await.
The Clippy configuration now identifies selected lock guards and RefCell borrows as invalid across .await. Workspace settings deny three async-hazard patterns and warn on large futures.
.clippy.toml names selected lock guards and Ref/RefMut with reasons for treating them as invalid across .await. Cargo.toml denies three async-hazard patterns and warns on large futures.
The change is mergeable, but the filename in the comment should be corrected so future edits target the active Clippy configuration.

CI Clippy failed on this config: large_futures = "warn" becomes fatal under -D warnings. Pushed a fix:
Real hit:resolve_archive_source held a [0_u8; 64 * 1024] stack buffer across .await, so its future was 64 KiB at 8 call sites in fbuild-packages-fetch. The buffer is now a heap vec!.
Threshold: the 16 KiB default also flagged every build-orchestrator pipeline future (17–25 KiB of composed state: ESP32, RP2040, SAM, Teensy, sequential pipeline). .clippy.toml now sets future-size-threshold = 32768, which still catches mistakes like the 64 KiB buffer.
Local soldr cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets -- -D warnings exits 0; cargo test -p fbuild-packages-fetch passes 184.
…threshold to 32 KiB
The buffer was held across .await, making resolve_archive_source's future
64 KiB. The default 16 KiB threshold also flagged every build orchestrator's
composed pipeline future (17-25 KiB) under -D warnings.
