Image Processing Toolbox

Desktop Application - Written in Python (Pyqt5)

Application Characteristics:

A python-based GUI application that executes and illustrates many image processing concepts such as:

  1. Image viewer
  • Open this types of images: DICOM, JPG, BMP, also detect corrupted one.
  • view metadata such as: width, height, total soze, bit depth, image color, for DICOM image only: modality, patient name, patient age, body part examined.
  1. Zooming using interpolation methods
  • Nearest Neighbor
  • Bilinear
  1. Affine Transformation
  • Rotation
  • Resize
  • Shearing
  1. Histogram Equalization
  2. Morphological Operations
  • Erosion
  • Dilation
  • Opening
  • Closing
  1. Filters
  • Spatial Domain
  • Frequency Domain
  1. Add and Remove Salt & Papper noise
  • Using Median filter
  1. Noise
  • Create a Phantom image
  • Add Gaussian or Uniform noise to the image
  • User draws a rectangular ROI (Region of Interest) on the image then draw its histogram
  1. Remove the periodic pattern
