About The Pull Request

  • Replaced the random spread of unnecessary motion-sensitive cameras in Medical with regular cameras
  • Changed every sink to use the directional variant
  • Relocated sinks in Medical
  • Flipped a Cargo Desk windoor and a Secure Art Exhibit windoor that were each the wrong way
  • Re-lit parts of Cargo that were entirely dark, even without night lighting
  • Lit the Morgue just a hint better and added a light outside of it
  • Fixed the Morgue filing cabinet eating the formaldehyde bottle meant to be sitting atop it (with some jank)
  • Adjusted some item locations in the Psychologist's office, gave it fish food and a light switch
  • Added actual names to half of Cargo's doors
  • Re-labeled Cargo's various delivery chutes to actually designate what their purposes are without just relying on trial and error
  • Added filing cabinets to the Cargo Bay and Delivery Office for paperwork. Also replaced the weird maintenance lootbox filing cabinets with real, functional ones in every other non-maintenance area, because why in the stars were those there?
  • Added multiple folders across various departments that truly could use some
  • Gave Medical and Service a general access fax machine for paperwork, as well as one to the Library and Chapel Office since they're both rather secluded
  • Gave the Library just a bit of a glass shielding (primarily to avoid the fax machine being completely open-access) and reorganized it a bit
  • Moved the ice cream machine to the cold room, and moved the dinnerware vendor to the kitchen
  • Gave the Research Director's Office and Server Room the Command door types
  • Gave robotics a medical laptop, and replaced two tables with a rack and a shelf respectively to fix the odd four-by-four table with the surgery area.

Why It's Good For The Game

All of these changes give more avenues for roleplay or add clarity to parts of the map that were woefully unclear. There were also some design decisions that were particularly poor for player experience that have been rectified within this PR (making chefs not need to dive into the cold room to get a fork is good, actually).

Added a few more minor things, some touch-ups to kitchen and library desk. Screenshots updated to showcase. Should be ready for review, now.

i'm not a fan of how dark the library still is but beyond that this is pretty good. finally we can have non-motion-activated medbay gameplay

The library is certainly much better when all of its lanterns are lit and replaced. Though there is merit to not having a manually-activated library, and I did consider adding those lights, I tried to make general improvements in this PR over shifting anything I felt was an intended design decision where avoidable. If I choose to do something like that, it would most likely be its own PR later on.
