First-party compatibility add-on between Terraria 10 (Ben10Mod) and MrPlague's Authentic Races (MrPlagueRaces).
- Terraria 10 (
Ben10Mod) 0.94 or later - MrPlague's Authentic Races (
MrPlagueRaces) 0.4.0.4 or later - tModLoader 2026.5
This add-on is independently packaged but intentionally depends on both mods at runtime. It does not copy or redistribute either dependency's code or assets.
- Keep this project beside
Ben10ModinModSources. - Install and enable MrPlague's Authentic Races so tModLoader can resolve the
MrPlagueRacesmod reference. - Build
Ben10Modfirst, then build this add-on.
The add-on intentionally contains no duplicate alien mechanics or sprites. Each race maps to a Terraria 10 transformation ID, and Terraria 10 remains the single source of truth for gameplay and rendering.
The supported build path is tModLoader's Workshop > Develop Mods > Build + Reload:
- Install and enable Terraria 10 and MrPlague's Authentic Races.
- Place this repository in
ModSources/Ben10Races. - If developing both projects from source, place
Ben10Modbeside it and build Terraria 10 first. - Build and reload this add-on.
The modReferences declaration in build.txt makes both dependencies mandatory and prevents the
add-on from loading when either one is absent.
A raw dotnet build is not dependency-free. The compiler must be given assemblies for both referenced
mods. The repository uses a neighboring Ben10Mod project for Terraria 10 development; MrPlague's
Authentic Races is normally resolved by tModLoader from the locally installed Workshop .tmod.
For an authorized local or CI setup with extracted dependency assemblies, use the compile-only path:
dotnet restore \
-p:BuildMod=false \
-p:TargetFramework=net8.0 \
-p:Ben10ModAssemblyPath=/absolute/path/to/Ben10Mod.dll \
-p:MrPlagueRacesAssemblyPath=/absolute/path/to/MrPlagueRaces.dll
dotnet build --no-restore \
-p:BuildMod=false \
-p:TargetFramework=net8.0 \
-p:Ben10ModAssemblyPath=/absolute/path/to/Ben10Mod.dll \
-p:MrPlagueRacesAssemblyPath=/absolute/path/to/MrPlagueRaces.dllDo not commit or redistribute dependency DLLs or .tmod files. A future CI workflow should obtain
authorized dependency artifacts at build time and pass them as compiler references.
The current add-on version is 0.1. Before publishing an artifact:
- build it against the supported dependency versions above;
- select and enter a world with representative normal and Ultimate races;
- verify save/reload, death/respawn, and character race switching;
- verify Omnitrix override and return-to-race behavior;
- verify multiplayer client and dedicated-server synchronization;
- confirm the
.tmodcontains only this add-on's assembly, metadata, icon, localization, and intended PDB.
