Hi! Just tried this mod for the first time. Great work!
I noticed that some of the game's lighting choices negatively affect VR immersion. Especially at night and in dark spaces!
Firstly, the dim short-throw point light around the player. I know it's meant to be a QoL feature in the original game, to ensure players aren't stuck truly unable to see ANYTHING around them at night. But in VR it's an immersion debuff. If you ask me, it's also kinda spooky, because it doesn't make sense to have a glow around you all the time.
I'd like to suggest a simply group of options to help players choose how immersive they want the dark to be:
- Player glow settings: On / Hands only / Off -- where "Hands only" limits the glow radius to just around each hand. Players can see items they might be trying to interact with, but not everything immediately around their entire body
- Nighttime ambient light settings: Off / Starlight / Moonlight -- where starlight is a veeeery dim ambient light from above, and moonlight is a bit brighter
Really hope you'll consider improving the nighttime immersion in BigWalkVR using ideas like these. Thank you!
