Wifi Passwords

Shows the passwords of the Wi-Fi networks your Windows PC has connected to before. Useful when a friend asks for the Wi-Fi password, or before reinstalling Windows.

Usage

Requires Windows and Python 3.9 or newer. No extra packages are needed.

python wifi_passwords.py

Or double-click wifi_passwords.py; the window stays open until you press Enter.

How it works

The tool runs Windows' built-in netsh wlan export profile key=clear into a temporary folder, reads the network names and passwords from the exported XML files, and then deletes the folder. It works on every Windows display language (English, Türkçe, Deutsch…). Nothing is sent anywhere.

Only use this on your own computer. Windows shows passwords only for networks saved on this PC.
