I'm working on a new feature inspired on Hunk for lazygitrs.
The idea consists to have an AI review workflow based on notes added on the diff view. The AI could read, create, navigate on notes and so on...
Are you interested on a PR for that feature?
Hunk in general is very interesting, I think I'll be planning to incorporate some features from it into lazygitrs. i.e. jj support (so cool), using it as a pager, etc.
re: notes feature
I've personally haven't looked at / used "notes on diffs" to help with my ai workflow, so just reading up on this now. I'm willing to incorporate it into my workflow. This seems like big scope though, I'm imagining:
Notes in the TUI
CLI commands for adding notes (for agents)
A skill for that CLI (Just put it in skills/lazygitrs/SKILL.md in the repo and can be installed w/ npx skills add blankeos/lazygitrs
Personally don't know how it'll take shape yet, but yeah I'd be interested in a PR!
It has "push notes to Github/Gitlab" Can be out of scope for now, but I think that's really useful.
Also don't know the specifics yet of "note authors".. I assume an agent should be able to write notes via a CLI + Skill. The user can also write notes via the TUI. I would assume the local notes & pushed notes would reflect that
I wanted to give you a quick update on how things have been evolving. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been using lazygitrs daily as my primary Git tool. In the process, I ended up building several workflow enhancements directly on my personal branch to optimize my day-to-day productivity.
Everything is running solidly, and I'd love to share these improvements back with upstream!
To respect your time and avoid dumping a massive monolithic PR on you, I've started splitting the features into small, bite-sized, and decoupled pull requests step by step:
🚀 PRs Already Opened (Zero Conflicts & Isolated):
Each of these derives cleanly from main, passes all tests, and is fully configurable via config.yml (zero impact on default keybindings or muscle memory):
#34--commits CLI flag & Ctrl+G dual-diff toggle: Instant toggle between Working Tree (Files) and HEAD (Commits) diffs, with dynamic status bar hints.
#35 Interactive shell prompt (:): Run shell commands safely inside lazygitrs with user alias support and stdout/stderr popups without freezing the TTY.
#36 Commit filter UX improvements: Esc instant reset for active branch/author/path filters, Ctrl+L shortcut parity, and <Clear Filter> in the branch checklist.
🛠️ Other Features Already Running on My Personal Branch:
I have several other features implemented and battle-tested on my branch that I haven’t submitted as PRs yet (since they touch adjacent UI/diff components, I wanted to wait for the baseline PRs to land first to avoid messy merge conflicts):
Diff Notes & AI Review Annotation Sync (ACP / SSE):
Inline review notes anchored directly to diff line ranges.
Bidirectional sync via a lightweight local HTTP/SSE server (isolated per worktree via .lazygitrs.port).
Seamless integration with external AI coding agents (and manual note creation via c directly on lines, clipboard copy with yank flash, and auto-focusing on note navigation).
Mouse Drag Resizing (Draggable Layout):
A grab column allowing users to click and drag to resize the sidebar panels and diff views smoothly at 60 FPS (bypassing redundant git reloads during drag).
Discard All Changes (D in Files panel):
Quick shortcut with confirmation modal to discard all uncommitted changes (both tracked and untracked via git reset --hard HEAD + git clean -fd).
Commits View Enhancements:
Quick toggle (a) between viewing all branch commits vs HEAD-only.
Smoother commit pagination and elimination of scroll jumps during background git refresh.
Theme System Migration to TOML:
Clean migration of theme configurations from JSON to TOML, with user themes in ~/.config/lazygit/themes/ properly taking priority over embedded built-in themes.
Worktree & Sibling Management:
Enhanced worktree workflows following .bare container layouts with dedicated tmux session integration.
🎥 Demo Video Coming Soon!
I am recording a video showing all of these features in action in my real daily workflow — both the ones already in the 4 open PRs and the remaining ones mentioned above. I'll share the video link here as soon as it's ready so you can see how everything feels in practice!
Take all the time you need to review the open PRs — absolutely no rush at all. Whenever you take a look, let me know if you want any adjustments to naming, defaults, or design choices, and I'll gladly adjust them.
Thanks again for building such an awesome project! 🙌

Hi! I appreciate it! I was looking at a vid of hunk to understand this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4fJbIF8WAs

This probably pushes the bar for this feature even higher: https://tuicr.dev https://github.com/agavra/tuicr
