[Wine-Wayland] HDR games launch on wrong monitor

Symptoms

When launching a game in Wayland and with HDR the game will open on my secondary monitor in fullscreen.
My secondary monitor is positioned to the left of my primary and is in SDR.
Some games are not able to be moved to the primary monitor.
Some games can be moved over, but settings cannot be changed beyond the limitations of the secondary monitor. For example, the game still maxes out at 3440x1440 but my main monitor can do 3840x2160.

Effectively I must either disable HDR or turn off my secondary monitor to play the game.

Reproduction

Have a secondary monitor
Enable HDR on main monitor
Start Steam game in Wayland (with PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1) and use Proton-CachyOS Latest
The game will launch on the secondary monitor in fullscreen

(I don't know if you have to have the secondary monitor on the left side, but that was mentioned in the original report)

Have you tried it with proton-em (11.0), this bug should not be possible to trigger unless some primary monitor env var is set. I have been unable to reproduce it on my setup for more than a year now

That is also not the latest version of proton-cachyos

I couldn't figure how to get Proton-EM 11.0. The latest one ProtonPlus has is EM-10.0-37-HDR+ so I used that

I tested PowerWash, Control, Cyberpunk and Elden Ring. They all launched on the wrong monitor. I should note that PowerWash and Cyberpunk both saw my secondary monitor as 1 and my primary as 2, the opposite of what KDE settings says. Control and Elden Ring don't have an option to change monitor so they didn't have this

I tried two sets of launch options, 'PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 %command%' and 'PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 DXVK_HDR=1 %command%', but in both cases every game still launched on the wrong monitor

If this is that really hard to trigger race condition from upstream wine then 10.0-37 has the same bug. Please try the latest version of proton-cachyos. Proton-EM 11.0 can be downloaded from GitHub actions. Fwiw Wayland does not have any mechanism to query the primary monitor, but on your setup specifically winewayland will guess correctly
