Summary

Upgrades cloud/helm from a short schema-v1 overview into a schema-v3 deep technical reference organized around Helm's real object model: chart, values, rendered manifests, Kubernetes resources, release state, and revisions.

Changes

  • explain modern Helm client/library architecture and the Kubernetes API boundary
  • distinguish charts, values, rendered manifests, releases, and live resources
  • cover chart anatomy, values precedence/schema, Go templating, helpers, dependencies, and library charts
  • document install, upgrade, rollback, uninstall, hooks, CRDs, release history, and storage concerns
  • explain Kubernetes ownership, drift, resource conflicts, GitOps integration, and failure boundaries
  • cover chart repositories, OCI registries, provenance, artifact identity, RBAC, release-metadata sensitivity, and supply-chain review
  • add chart testing, CI/CD, debugging workflows, common failure modes, performance, release granularity, plugins, and Go SDK
  • distinguish Helm 2, Helm 3, and current Helm 4 without treating version-sensitive behavior as timeless
  • add Technology Universe coverage metadata and one deliberate relationship to Kubernetes
  • expand the source set to current upstream Helm architecture, lifecycle, security, OCI, provenance, plugin, and support-policy documentation

Quality bar

The module follows the deep-dive standard without becoming a command catalog. Its organizing model is the package/render/release lifecycle and the ownership boundaries that matter when a Kubernetes deployment fails.
