Summary

Upgrades cloud/kubernetes from a short schema-v1 overview into a schema-v3 deep technical reference organized around Kubernetes' actual control-system model: API objects, desired state, reconciliation, scheduling, and node execution.

Changes

  • explain the API-driven reconciliation mental model end-to-end
  • cover kube-apiserver, etcd, scheduler, controller manager, kubelet, CRI, networking, and CSI boundaries
  • add object-model details including spec/status, labels/selectors, ownership, finalizers, and namespaces
  • cover Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Jobs, scheduling, resources, probes, graceful termination, and disruptions
  • explain Services, EndpointSlices, DNS, NetworkPolicy, Gateway/Ingress, storage, PV/PVC, StorageClass, and CSI
  • add authentication, RBAC, admission, Pod Security Admission, workload-security and supply-chain guidance
  • add CRDs/controllers/operators, admission webhooks, scheduler extensibility, observability, high availability, etcd recovery, upgrades, scaling, failure modes, and debugging workflows
  • add Technology Universe coverage metadata
  • connect Kubernetes deliberately to Containers, containerd, and Docker without conflating their layers
  • expand the source set to upstream Kubernetes architecture, API, scheduling, networking, storage, security, etcd, and upgrade documentation

Quality bar

This follows the project's deep-dive standard without copying the Docker or containerd modules mechanically. The organizing model is Kubernetes' declarative control plane and the ownership boundaries operators actually use to diagnose distributed failures.
