Describe the bug
Environment
OS: Arch Linux
Display: Wayland (Avalonia desktop uses X11 backend)
Avalonia: 12.1.1
Avalonia.Controls.WebView: 12.1.0
Keyboard layout: English (US)
WPE dependencies:
- wpewebkit
- libwpe
- wpebackend-fdo
Expected
When typing in any text input, typing characters like '!', '@' and '#' are expected to appear in the input field.
Actual
Secondary symbols on the number keys do not appear in the selected input field. Other special characters work fine, both primary and secondary like '-' and '_'. Having tested multiple keyboard layouts (US Intl. and Danish), the problem persists.
To investigate further, all the same things were tested on a Fedora workstation installation with its needed WPE packages installed. There was no difference in behavior.
Additional observation
Clipboard functionality appears to work fine within the WebView itself. However, it fails to integrate with the system clipboard. Copied and pasted strings in the WebView can only be used within the WebView, and the same applies in reverse for the rest of the system.
To Reproduce
Reproduce
Go to any page with an input field and try to input secondary number "!%@$#&".
The characters will then remain absent from the input field.
Expected behavior
No response
Avalonia WebView version
12.1.0
Avalonia version
12.1.1
OS
Linux
Additional context
No response
