Describe the bug
The NativeWebView control does not work on Ubuntu Linux. The NativeWebView control requires WPEWebKit, but Ubuntu does not package WPEWebKit and it cannot be installed.
Doing:
sudo apt install libwpewebkit-2.0-1
gives:
Couldn't find any package by glob 'libwpewebkit-2.0-1'
You can install webkitgtk on Ubuntu, but it does not work for NativeWebView, even if you set ExperimentalOffscreen to true.
To Reproduce
Create a NativeWebView control on Ubuntu Linux 24.04 or 26.04. Load content via NavigateToString.
Expected behavior
Content should be displayed on the NativeWebView control.
I can provide a sample project if that would help.
Avalonia version
12.0.4
OS
Linux
Additional context
I expect there to be a way that I can display Web content in a control on the latest version of Ubuntu Linux.
