This is definitely worth merging since the update includes multiple high-severity security fixes affecting middleware bypasses, SSRF, cache poisoning, and DoS vectors in Next.js. Given the scope of the advisories, staying on 16.2.3 would leave the app exposed to known issues. The changes are still within the same patch range, so compatibility risk should be relatively low, but I’d still recommend running a quick validation on middleware behavior, routing, SSR flows, and any custom App Router logic before merge. Overall, this looks like an important security upgrade rather than just a routine dependency bump.
