Lets a single model file carry its own LOD and physics models: NAME_LOD2, NAME_LOD1, NAME_LOD0 and NAME_PHYS beside NAME fill NAME's Medium, Low, Lowest and Physics slots, for one model or a whole linkset.
Why
The uploader already pairs LOD and physics models by these names, but only from separate files. Put them in the high LOD's file and each became a model of its own: the glTF and Collada loaders cut the suffix off every name, so Door_LOD1 arrived as a second Door (glTF renames it Door_copy_1) and uploaded as an extra object.
What it does
Loaders: a high LOD file keeps its names whole. LOD and physics files are read as before.
Preview: after a high LOD load, each suffixed model whose base the file also has moves into that LOD's slot, named as a separate LOD file would name it, so the existing matching by name finds it. Submodels (NAME_LOD2b) move with their root.
Slots: the LOD dropdowns read Load from file and are not generated over. The log lists what was taken.
Partial sets: a LOD that only some models have is generated for all of them, with a log line. Physics may be partial; models without a _PHYS are logged and may use default_physics_shape, as with an explicit physics file.
Reloads: a later high file releases what an earlier one filled, and a separate LOD file replaces what the high file gave.
Unchanged: a suffixed model with no base in the file is named without its suffix and uploads as before. ImporterLegacyMatching turns the sorting off.
A file holding NAME, NAME_LOD2, NAME_LOD1, NAME_LOD0 and NAME_PHYS uploaded
every one of them as a model of its own: the loaders cut the suffixes off,
so each became a copy of NAME, and LOD slots filled only from separate
files. A high LOD file now keeps its names whole, and the preview moves
each suffixed model whose base the file has into that LOD's slot, where
the matching by name that separate LOD files use finds it. Those LODs are
not generated over; a LOD only some models have is generated instead.
Submodels move with their root, a later high file releases what an
earlier one filled, and physics taken this way warns of models without
one as an explicit physics file does. A suffixed model with no base is
named without its suffix, as before.

High-detail model uploads recognize _LOD0, _LOD1, _LOD2, and _PHYS suffixes and assign matching models to detail or physics slots.
Suffixed models without a matching base can be uploaded as separate parts. The default physics shape or a selected detail level can provide physics when no separate physics model is available.
High-detail model labels retain their suffixes; labels for other detail levels remain suffix-stripped.
Bug Fixes
Automatic detail generation skips levels supplied by the high-detail file; missing levels remain eligible for generation.
Documentation
Added guidance for exporting multi-part models, detail levels, and physics objects in one .glb file.
DAE and glTF loaders preserve high-LOD model-name suffixes. The model preview uses matching suffixes to assign embedded models to LOD and physics slots, track file-supplied LODs, and adjust physics and LOD generation. A new guide describes the single-file Blender workflow.

Summary
Preserve high-LOD name suffixes indra/llprimitive/lldaeloader.cpp, indra/newview/gltf/llgltfloader.cpp

Physics sourced from High keeps the previous collision models after a High reload.
When Physics is set from High, a High reload does not update the Physics slot. The copy condition in follow_physics at indra/newview/llmodelpreview.cpp:2012-2015 requires split[physics_from] or was_from_file[physics_from]. Neither is set for LLModel::LOD_HIGH, so mModel[LLModel::LOD_PHYSICS] and mScene[LLModel::LOD_PHYSICS] keep the models loaded before the reload.
The reload then rebuilds the upload data. update() calls updateDimentionsAndOffsets(), which calls rebuildUploadData(). The Physics match at indra/newview/llmodelpreview.cpp:363-381 uses mPhysicsSearchLOD (LLModel::LOD_HIGH) as the search suffix and searches the old Physics scene. When a new High model has the same label as an old one, the old collision model is assigned to the upload instance.
Keying the fix on mPhysicsSearchLOD == LLModel::LOD_HIGH alone does not work. A separately loaded physics file leaves that index set to LLModel::LOD_HIGH, so the copy from High would replace that file on the next High reload.

Review comment at @indra/newview/llmodelpreview.cpp around lines 2012 - 2015:
Update `follow_physics` so reloading High refreshes the Physics model and scene
when Physics is sourced from High, while preserving separately loaded physics
files. Determine and use reliable source/provenance state to distinguish these
cases; do not gate the copy solely on `mPhysicsSearchLOD == LLModel::LOD_HIGH`.
Collada instances of a high file were still cut at any _LOD or _PHYS in
their names, so a part such as Wall_LODGE found no High model. A LOD set
was judged complete by its count, so a part without its own LOD could take
another's submodel; it now needs each part's model by name.
default_physics_shape_PHYS goes to physics without a part of that name,
as the separate physics file it stands for would. Physics loaded from a
file of its own no longer follows a LOD it was once copied from, and the
LOD controls show each slot's source once the file has set it.

Physics set to use a LOD was copied from it while it was released for
generation, so it stayed empty and the upload fell back to the High
model's own hulls. It is now copied when the LOD it uses is generated.

Refresh copied physics when its source LOD changes through USE_LOD_ABOVE.
Physics copied from LOW keeps the old model objects. Regenerating MEDIUM replaces LOW's models through USE_LOD_ABOVE, but the new block refreshes physics only when the regenerated LOD is mPhysicsSearchLOD. Upload then uses the old collision geometry while LOW displays the new model. The stale-physics behavior predates this PR.

Physics chosen as a copy of a LOD was copied once and went stale when
the LOD changed: a new high file, the file's own LODs, generation or a
LOD file loaded later all left the old copy. Rebuilding the upload data
now copies that LOD again wherever it differs, which replaces the copies
the split and generation made at their own points. Every instance of a
shared leftover suffixed model now takes its stripped name.

Match LOD suffixes against the object name.
When an object is named part_LOD2 but its geometry label is part, splitSuffixedModels sees only part. It leaves the object in the high-model set, so the upload contains an extra high model and does not assign that object to LOD2.
Keep LLModel::mLabel geometry-derived. Add separate per-instance object-name metadata and use that metadata for LOD and physics-suffix matching. Do not overwrite LLModel::mLabel; shared domMesh instances and default_physics_shape lookup depend on its geometry identity.

Restore default_physics_shape for standalone physics files.
loadModelCallback() stores default_physics_shape_PHYS for standalone physics files. rebuildUploadData() then clears mDefaultPhysicsShapeP and restores it only when mLODFromHighFile[LLModel::LOD_PHYSICS] is true. Standalone physics files do not set that flag. After the next rebuild, missing physics parts use decomposition instead of the configured default shape. Restore the default whenever mLODFile[LLModel::LOD_PHYSICS] is non-empty, or preserve the pointer for this path. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
