Dayproof

CI Powered by BharatCode Private by design License: MIT

Proof of your workday. Dayproof quietly captures what you work on. At the end of the day, BharatCode AI turns it into a client-ready update, a list of what you shipped, and posts for X and LinkedIn.

Built for freelancers and developers who'd rather do the work than write about it.

npx github:Ajay702/dayproof demo # try it on a sample freelancer day
Dayproof report: an AI-written client update email signed by the freelancer, plus Shipped, In progress, Blockers and Next lists Dayproof report: X and LinkedIn posts that open with a life moment, and a timeline of the day's screenshots, each described by AI
The client update, written from the day's screenshots and notes Posts + timeline. A life moment becomes the hook

A real report from the included sample day, generated by BharatCode qwen-3.8-27b. A screenshot of a .env file with (fake) keys was flagged by the AI and left out automatically.

The problem

Clients ask "what did you do today?", and your audience wants "what are you building?". Writing those updates is unpaid work that eats the end of every day, so most people skip it. They lose client trust and stay invisible online.

How it works

dayproof start --client "Chai Point" # morning: start capturing
   … you work … # a screenshot every 5 min while you're active
… long break? … # "Welcome back 👋 anything worth remembering?"
dayproof note "Live keys pending" # a WORK note → client update
dayproof moment "Stuck in traffic 1 h" # a LIFE moment → posts only, never the client email
dayproof moment "…" --private # journal only: never sent to AI, never posted
dayproof report --client "Chai Point" # evening: BharatCode AI writes your day
dayproof post linkedin # Brave opens with the post filled in, you press Post

What report gives you (one HTML page you can share):

📨 Client update A plain-text email, signed with your name, ready to paste
✅ Shipped / in progress / blockers / next Built from your actual screens, notes and git commits
📣 X + LinkedIn posts About the work, with your life moments as the hook ("fixed the bug in the Airtel store queue 😅"). Never names the client
🕒 Timeline Your day in screenshots, each described by AI
⏱ Active time Counted from work sessions, not wall-clock time
🗓 Weekly report + timesheet dayproof week writes the Friday client email, timesheet.csv for invoicing, and a weekly LinkedIn recap
🇮🇳 Hinglish or Hindi posts --lang hinglish: "Wapas aake Razorpay UPI + card dono end-to-end chal gaye"

Privacy first

Dayproof watches your screen, so trust is the whole product:

  • Off until you run start. Pause any time with dayproof pause. dayproof forget deletes a whole day.
  • Private apps are never captured: password managers, WhatsApp, Messages, Telegram, Signal, Discord, Mail, Photos, Wallet, System Settings and more.
  • Screenshots never leave your machine except on report, when up to 12 are sent to BharatCode AI to be described.
  • AI privacy check: any screenshot the model sees with passwords, API keys, chats or personal data is flagged and left out of the report. In the demo, a .env file with keys is caught and hidden.
  • No AI key? No screenshots in the report, because nothing has checked them.
  • Life moments are yours. Moments never go into client emails. --private moments never leave your laptop. Moments about other people (a nagging relative, a noisy flatmate) are retold kindly and anonymously, so "Chacha ji asked when I'll get a real job at TCS" becomes "A relative asked (again) when I'll get a 'real job'".
  • It never posts for you. It opens X or LinkedIn's own composer with the text filled in, and you press Post.

Uses BharatCode

  • Model: qwen-3.8-27b via https://bharatcode.ai/api/model/v1/responses
  • Vision: screenshots go in as images, and each comes back with a 20-word description of the work plus a private/not-private flag
  • Writing: a second call turns screens, notes, moments and commits into the update and posts, using structured JSON output (schemas, never scraped text)
  • About 3 calls and roughly 8k tokens per day, which fits easily in BharatCode's free student tier
echo "BHARATCODE_API_KEY=bc_live_..." > .env # from https://bharatcode.ai/account

Commands

dayproof start [--client "Acme"] [--every 5] Start capturing (Ctrl-C to stop)
dayproof note "Fixed the checkout bug" Add a note to today
dayproof pause | resume Pause capturing
dayproof status What has been captured today
dayproof report [--client] [--repo .] [--date] [--open] [--no-ai]
[--lang english|hinglish|hindi] Language for the posts (client email stays English)
dayproof week [--client] [--date …] Weekly client report + timesheet + LinkedIn recap
dayproof timesheet [--client] [--date …] Hours per day for the week, as CSV for your invoice
dayproof post x | linkedin [--date …] Open Brave with the post filled in
dayproof forget [--date …] Delete a day
dayproof demo [--open] Sample freelancer day
dayproof check-ai Test your BharatCode key

--repo . adds that day's git commits as evidence. Emails are signed with DAYPROOF_NAME, or your git user.name.

Requirements: Node 20.12+. Capturing works on macOS (it uses the built-in screencapture; on first run, give your terminal Screen Recording permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security). note, report, post and demo work everywhere.

Development

npm test # 24 tests: capture loop (fake screen), privacy, reports, CLI end to end
npm run make-demo # regenerate the sample day's screenshots

Roadmap

  • Windows and Linux capture
  • Weekly recap and invoice-ready timesheets
  • Voice moments, transcribed on your device
  • Team mode: "what we shipped this week"
