subtitles-parser

Simple module written in javascript, which provides SubRip subtitles parsing methods

Difference to the original version from bazh:

• prepared for unicode languages, e.g. Chinese, Russian, etc
• more lenient regarding the notation of hours in timestamp (can be 00:mm... or 0:mm...)
• ES6 support (const/let)
• Multi-line support for all languages
• support for cue box instructions (align, position, etc) from 0.0.7
• fromSrt function now has an options object as second parameter (instead of a bool value for "useMs")
• Support for unicode languages with special signs for sounds or vocals like Lao or Thai (use language parameter for fromSrt options)

ATTENTION: This version is most likely not backwards compatible with the original subtitles-parser package

Installation:

NodeJS:

npm install subtitles-parser

or download minified version of subtitle-parser to use module in a browser

Let's say we have my.srt SubRip subtitles file:

1. Load file into data variable

var data = parser.fromSrt(srt);

data object will look like:

if you will pass true flag to fromSrt function:

then it will convert startTime and endTime properties into millisecods:
