Computer Science Undergraduate · Full-Stack Developer · Builder
I build things, break things, understand why they broke,
and try to make the next version a little better.
I'm Abdulkadir Shaikh, a Computer Science undergraduate interested in building reliable software and understanding the systems behind it.
My primary focus is full-stack development, with experience building web applications from the interface all the way to APIs, databases, authentication, and deployment.
I'm also strengthening my foundations in Data Structures & Algorithms, problem solving, and computer science fundamentals.
I enjoy working on projects where I can go beyond simply making something work, understanding why it works, how it scales, and how it can be made simpler.
- Building full-stack applications and experimenting with new ideas
- Practicing Data Structures & Algorithms
- Working with modern web technologies and backend systems
- Exploring cross-platform application development
- Participating in hackathons and building under real constraints
- Writing about things I learn and problems I encounter
- Linux enthusiast and CLI-first developer
I particularly enjoy projects involving:
- Full-stack web applications
- Backend APIs and database systems
- Developer tools
- Productivity applications
- Mobile applications
- Systems that solve practical problems
- Projects where performance, architecture, and maintainability actually matter
I prefer simple systems that are easy to understand over complicated systems that merely look impressive.
Hackathons have become one of my favourite ways to learn.
Working with a team under a deadline forces you to make decisions quickly, communicate clearly, and ship something that actually works.
I've participated in multiple hackathons and competitive project environments, where I've worked across frontend, backend, databases, APIs, deployment, and product development.
The biggest lesson has been simple:
Building something real teaches you things that tutorials cannot.

Building Better Software
I'm trying to become less dependent on frameworks and more capable of understanding the engineering underneath them.
I occasionally write about programming, things I'm learning, technical problems I've encountered, and lessons from building projects.
You can find my writing on Hashnode.
Consistency beats intensity.
Readable code beats clever code.
Understanding beats memorization.
Building beats endlessly preparing to build.
I'm still learning, still breaking things, and still figuring out what kind of engineer I want to become.
But every project leaves me a little better than the last.
Thanks for stopping by.
